Are you constantly setting yourself up for failure, without realising it?
What if you’re not to blame and it’s the environment thats the problem?
What if the people you surround yourself with are having a negative impact on your goals?
Maybe all you need is a change of environment, instead of trying the latest fad diet.
Maybe you need to reconsider who you follow on social media…who you hang around with…where you train…
What if your “environment” includes your own mind You spend all day there after all?
Perhaps your mindset needs shifting to one that better serves your goals?
Your environment will either set you up for success or failure. The sights, taste and smell of your surroundings will play a big role in the choices that you make, being good or bad.

The great thing is that you can control many elements of your environment, therefore helping you to be in control and setting yourself up to make better decisions.
–
Social Media -The people you follow and the content you see on social media can have a big impact on how you feel. Surround yourself with content that is positive and educates you. Following all the ‘food porn’ pages will not help matters
–
Friends/Family- Create a support network, people that understand you and will help you achieve your goal. It’s easy to be influenced and easily led by the people closest to you.
–
Food – If crisps are your downfall for example, then don’t buy them that way you are not tempted. Remember, you want to set yourself up to win, not to fail. Another idea would be to by snack size instead of family size if you struggle with portion control
–
Limiting food choices- We are not talking just chicken and rice here. Many studies have shown that limiting food variety will reduce the risk of over indulging and eating too much. Picture yourself at a buffet, you want to try everything on the menu, leading to eating more calories than you would if there was less food variety.
–
Accessibility – Make it hard for yourself to have the foods you crave. If it’s there in front of you, you are far more likely to eat it, compared to driving a few miles down the road to buy it.
–
Online shopping – Avoid temptations, unnecessary purchases and save money and time
